The Kiwanis Club of San Clemente and its foundation presented a check for $10,000 to the Courtney’s SandCastle Charitable Foundation.
Courtney’s SandCastle is the universally accessible playground and is part of the Vista Hermosa Sport Park & Aquatics Center. It serves children of all abilities, and is especially designed for children with physical, mental and sensory disabilities.
The club raised the money for the park at a fundraising event called “Dancing for a Cause.”
Kiwanis Club member Alan Anderson was chosen by his club to dance in a fundraising competition, matched up with a professional dancer, to compete against dancing pairs from five other organizations.
The money was raised by pledges to support Anderson as well as through some silent auctions.
